FALCON Fraud Prevention Service
In an effort to keep your accounts secure, we continually improve our alert system for potential debit card fraud. The new FALCON Fraud Prevention Service monitors your normal transaction behavior and scores transactions for potential fraud based on a variety of factors. The system then automatically contacts you to confirm or deny fraud via several different contact methods.
In order to provide the highest level of protection, it is very important that your mobile phone number and email address be accurate and updated in our system. Please contact your customer service representative at 1-800-526-3572 to update your contact information, as needed.
How FALCON Fraud Prevention works:
- When potential fraud is detected (when transaction activity is outside your normal activity), you will receive an automatic email notification from Athens Federal Community Bank, with the option to reply with "fraud" or "no fraud."
- One minute after the email, you will receive a text alert from 32874 (only between 7 a.m.-9 p.m.), which also has the "fraud" or "no fraud" option.*
- If there is no response from you, five minutes after the text alert, you will receive automatic phone calls to confirm or deny fraud (only between 8 a.m.-9 p.m.).*
Available to all AFCB debit cardholders beginning May 25, 2016 -
no enrollment necessary.
*The phone number for our Fraud Center is 1-800-417-4592. If you add this number to your phone contacts and label it "AFCB Fraud Center," it will display whenever you get a call from this number. Please note you cannot call this number unless you have received a message from the Fraud Center and an active alert has been placed on your card.
Remember - our messages will never ask for your PIN or account number. The message/call is only intended to confirm or deny potentially fraudulent debit card transactions for your convenience and protection.
This service is completely separate from our optional SMS Guardian fraud alert text monitoring.
